The Pawpaw Tree
The photo to the left is a pawpaw tree found in the woods at Wright State University. The pawpaw, Asimina triloba, is a tree that grows in the eastern United States and is the largest native fruit in North America (NC State). These trees can grow to a height of 20-30 feet tall. It is a deciduous tree with large leaves that lives its entire life beneath the forest canopy.
